Who’s that girl?
Claire, French and American (I was born in the USA!),
I’ve always traveled, born in New York, I’ve lived in Belgium, Norway, France, Australia, Singapore, China, Taiwan and Japan. Now I’m in San Francisco, trying to build my American dream!
Thank you for checking out my blog!

hello kitty!!

Yes it is indeed a very famous tapestry of the 15th century, that inspired the name of this blog, “la Dame A La Licorne” (the lady and the Unicorne) It may be seen at the Cluny museum in Paris. Well there’s actually six of them, each tapestry has a theme (Taste, hearing, sight, smell, touch and the final one “A Mon Seul Désir” , To my only desire) They are many interpretations for these tapestries…
Hiya,
Never thought that I’ll find you whilst googling for club desert rose. Apparently, I was in that club on same sat night as yourself.. We did met had a brief chat (u told that u work 4 embassy)
Well.. Do keep in touch.. I guess we are kinda same boat, being a gaijin in japan, and trying to learn the language / culture…
Cheers,
Amol
How random, well I hope you’re having a good time! Enjoying some more Tokyo night life!
Maybe we’ll meet up once more in a club!
Take care!
I stumbled onto your website while trying to find something to do in Monzen-Nakacho. I really enjoy reading your blog! I’ve been here almost a month now, but haven’t gotten out much. I have found a couple of new places I’d like to try, though, thanks to your blog!
Jen
Oh thank you for your comment Jen! I hope you can enjoy Tokyo as much as I do! It takes time to feel kind of home but it’s worth it!
Hiya,
I’m having house party (cum farewell party for my roomie) at my apartment tomorrow.. You are invited.. Lemme know if you can make, and i’ll send you details..
Cheers,
AB
Hello! I stumbled upon your blog doing a search on google images for “tokyo” I just wanted to say I think it is awesome how you are writing about your day to day experiences in Tokyo because I have always wanted to go there to do the same. I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma so not a lot goes on here compared to Tokyo. You can visit my myspace page if you want. http://www.myspace.com/seanrox007 Maybe one day I will get to go there too.
Hey there Sean,
I must say I’m a big fan of the “goofy video”!
Life in Tokyo is, just like anywhere, what you make of it… though Tokyo is huge and offers plenty of choices!
So yes I hope this Blog made you feel like checking out this side of the world!
Hope you’re having a good time in Tulsa!
Haha oh goodness I forgot I have some goofy embarassing videos on there
I make the best of what Tulsa has to offer but it would just be nice to have those extra choices in Tokyo. I am a big honda fanatic and in Japan they make thier Honda’s faster and with better parts than USA’s Honda’s. So, that is another reason why I would like to visit Tokyo, to see all the awesome cars. Your blog has definitely helped me get to experience Tokyo from a different point of view, unlike what you will find in any book. Is it difficult to get by without knowing fluent Japanese?
Well knowing some basic Japanese does make your life much much easier! Especially if you want to meet japanese and not just foreigners!
Yeah did notice by the picture that you had a thing for cars! the Japanese are crazy over their cars too… I don’t have one but I heard they were very expensive here…
Hey there nice blog.
I’m a bit jealous.. and I’m just wondering, how you got to travel and live in all those places?!
Well part of my traveling was just due to my father’s job but then I got a taste for it and now I just take any opportunity that arises… though I do feel like staying in Japan for a year or so… tired of packing!
thoroughly enjoyed reading about your whirlwind life. even as a fellow ebisien (working in meguro), my life is probably only 64% as interesting as yours. and if i was 23% as prolific as you are blogging i’d be happy.
random notes:
1. totally agree with you about corbusier’s vision. i was horrified at his plan to demolish paris and build apartment block monstrosities. but otherwise, love his stuff.
2. oh please sister, 27 is hardly old maidish. i think women BEGIN peaking at 30.
3. and, uh, that’s it.
cheers! and keep writing!
wind
Hey Wind,
Thank you for your comment! I was feeling quite self conscious when I started blogging, but the more you write the more you get the hang of it, and actually feel like posting more and more!
As for my age I guess I got used to the Japanese looking at me like I’m a lost cause… 27 and still not married!…
I hope you’re enjoying Ebisu… strangely enough I never go out around meguro!

PS: how about this blog of yours?
it’s true, japan is youth obsessed. don’t let it get you down. most of my japanese women friends who are unmarried and in their 30′s seem resigned to stay unmarried. if they were in the u.s. they’d be snatched up. what a sad state of affairs. just keep leading your fabulous life and enjoy being single. it probably won’t last.
it struck me that you’re like the french carrie bradshaw.
anyway, as for my blog, stop by: quiltingsword.com
cheers! wind
Salut Claire !
